About Mandy Bellenger
My name is Mandy, I have many years of experience as a midwife supporting women both at home and in the hospital setting. I have a passion for exceptional midwifery care and believe that continuity of the right carer and the sharing of knowledge are key to this.
As a mother of two daughters I have a true empathy with the women I have the pleasure to work with. We all lead such busy lives and taking time to care for ourselves gets lower on the ‘to do’ list. Pregnancy and birth are a right of passage for a woman and it’s a journey that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Having the right care provider for this period in our lives is an investment and can make a huge difference to the birth experience. Its time to make you, your growing baby, and your birth a priority by investing in your maternity care. After all this is your body, your baby, your birth! Working together we can create the perfect care plan for you, one that will guide you towards a memorable and amazing birth experience.
I have a strong interest in water birth, hypnotherapy and its uses for pregnancy and birth, relaxation techniques and Active Birth, and a combination of any of these has been shown to help you create a relaxed, confident birth experience.
I will guide you as your birth professional throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postnatal period allowing you to make confident choices in your care and the care of your new baby.
After your baby is born, I will be on hand to guide you through those initial days of parenting with daily visits. As an expert in breastfeeding, I will encourage you to successfully feed your baby with confidence, helping you to take cues from your baby to establish responsive feeding. As your confidence increases and you both begin to ‘feel your feet’, I will spread out my visits to suit you all but will remain contactable 24/7 if needed.
Visits are not limited in time or length, they will all be tailored to suit you and your busy lifestyle in pregnancy and then to fit around your new family post birth as life begins to slow down as you adjust to your new role as parents. Each visit will be not only to check on the physical care of both you and your baby but also to look after your emotional care by allowing you time to ask questions and work through topics that arise.
Whether you decide to birth at home or in hospital I will support you in your decisions towards a positive birth for both you and your baby.
I look forward to meeting you both…
